24-Hour Eco Campout Experience For Ages 13-17

Looking for a unique overnight experience for teens who love the outdoors and care about the environment? The Zero Waste & Sustainable Living Campout at YMCA Camp Erdman is a 24-hour specialty campout designed to teach sustainable practices, environmental stewardship, and low-waste living — all while enjoying classic camp activities.

This small-group campout combines hands-on sustainability education with hiking, group games, camp cooking, and outdoor skill-building in the beautiful setting of Camp Erdman.

Sample Campout Schedule

  • Day 1: Arrival, icebreakers, camp setup, sustainability activities, dinner prep and cooking, evening games, and reflection
  • Day 2: Breakfast prep, environmental education (recycling, microplastics, and waste cycles), beach cleanup, campsite pack-up, zero-waste planning, and group activities

    • Pick-Up: Tuesday at 2:00 PM
    • Families are responsible for drop-off and pick-up
  • Fee: $68 per session with Y membership - otherwise $80 per session
