YMCA of Honolulu Reopening Tuesday, February 10, as regularly scheduled
With improving weather conditions and after assessing our sites, all YMCA of Honolulu branches, facilities, and programs will reopen on Tuesday, February 10, as regularly scheduled.
This includes A+ Afterschool, preschools and early learning centers, teen and kūpuna programs, swim lessons, and all scheduled activities. The Central YMCA short-term accommodations will continue normal operations.
Mahalo for your patience and support as we prioritized safety during this severe weather period.

Severe Weather Closure – All YMCA of Honolulu Branches & Programs Closed Monday, February 9
All YMCA of Honolulu branches and programs will be closed on Monday, February 9, due to severe weather conditions. The only exception is the Central YMCA short-term accommodations, which will continue to operate.
This includes YMCA A+ Afterschool, teen and kūpuna programs, preschools and early learning centers, and swim lessons.
The closure aligns with today’s announcements from the State of Hawaiʻi and the City and County of Honolulu regarding the suspension of non-essential services Statewide. Governor Green announced that all public schools, including the University of Hawaiʻi, along with the State Legislature and Judiciary, will close on Monday, and only essential state employees should report to work. Mayor Rick Blangiardi also directed non-essential City and County employees not to report to work.
Safety is our priority. Officials are advising residents to stay off the roads due to dangerous conditions, including significant debris, forecasted intense rainfall, and high winds with gusts over 60 mph expected through the evening. Residents are encouraged to closely monitor official advisories and weather updates. Oʻahu residents may receive emergency notifications through HNL Alert at hnlalert.gov or by texting HNLALERT to 888-777.
