YMCA Camp Erdman Provides Storm Recovery Support While Reopening Programs
In response to the recent Kona Low system that brought severe flooding and damage to Waialua, Haleʻiwa, and communities across the North Shore, YMCA Camp H.R. Erdman is actively supporting recovery efforts while working to safely resume key programs and services.
Camp Erdman also sustained storm-related impacts and is currently undergoing assessment and cleanup. At the same time, the YMCA is prioritizing both community support and continuity of services for families, schools, and partners who rely on the camp.
Supporting the Community
Mahalo for the strong response and coordination from our community partners and first responders.
We're actively speaking with organizations and arranging temporary housing for workers and first responders supporting our North Shore community. At this time, our available cabin capacity is fully committed as we prioritize these coordinated efforts.
Our team also continues to explore additional ways to support recovery efforts, including making our commercial kitchen available for meal preparation and distribution in coordination with community partners.
For questions or coordination, please contact Jenn Holmberg at 808-637-4615.
Mahalo for your continued partnership in supporting our community

Commitment to Community and Recovery
“Our focus right now is twofold, supporting our North Shore community during a time of real need, and restoring Camp Erdman in a way that ensures it can continue to serve generations to come,” said Walter F. Thoemmes III, President and CEO of the YMCA of Honolulu.
“We know how important this place is, not just as a camp, but as a gathering space, a place of healing, and a resource for our community.”
Further updates will be shared as assessments are completed and additional services come online.
